Becoming a Tai Chi Connection (UK) certified Tai Chi & Qigong instructor involves structured training, practical workshops, with options for both health-focused and traditional martial arts pathways. Training typically combines live workshops, and supervised teaching practice, you will gain the knowledge, skills and experience to teach safely.

Tai Chi Connection UK - Instructor Training Requirements
The club offers any student the opportunity to progress to assistant instructor level which is valid for 2 years from the grading date. Thereafter there will be an opportunity to take a full instructor grading under Mrs Bao’s and her elected grading panel with the recommendation of their instructor.
Students must keep their training on a consistent basis with their chosen instructor and their knowledge current and up-to-date. Any assistant instructor who does not train regularly with BLFTC may have their assistant instructor certificate revoked. BLFTC instructors are required to visit instructor clubs to help maintain the BLFTC standard and it is a requirement that Bao’s instructors are invited to clubs on a regular basis.
Trainee instructors are required to train with a recognised body (Bao’s Lung Fei Tai Chi) or under ‘TCCUK, then to undertake the foundation work required. Students may renew their assistant instructor grade after 2 years or progress to Level 1 Instructor training providing the minimum requirements have been met.
Junior Instructor: minimum of 2 years consistent training with a BLFTC instructor or equivalent.

a. Bao’s Lung Fei Tai Chi history
b. Warm up
c. Ba Duan Jin Health Qigong
d. Tai Chi walking
e. Understanding of Yin & Yang
f. Bao’s 10 Forms
Level 1 Instructor: minimum 3 years training with a BLFTC instructor or equivalent.
Requirements:
a. Beijing 10 Forms
b. 16 Yang Style Forms
c. Shibashi 1
Level 2 Instructor: minimum 4 years total training with a BLFTC instructor or equivalent.
Requirements:
a. 24 Forms
b. Martial Applications
c. Push hands
d. Shibashi 2
e. Winter Brocade
Level 3 Instructor: minimum 5 years total training with a BLFTC instructor or equivalent
Requirements:
a. Weapons Forms
b. Advanced Push hands
c. 88 Forms
d. Health Qigong of choice
* Instructors must apply for and maintain relevant Instructor appropriate insurance, first aid certificate and DBS Certificate as well as attend appropriate technical and coaching courses as available.
